27 Mar First Aid Training
On Tuesday 14th March, year 12 and sixth form students taking part in the Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award were given a training session on First Aid by paramedic Yvonne Craig. They were shown how to deal with possible scenarios when on their expeditions and other activities. This included how to deal with fractures, breaks, bleeds and how to properly perform CPR.
Well done to all who took part, especially Brian (12PTT) and Daisy (12STN) for excellent enthusiasm and questioning during the event. Brian volunteered to be the ‘injured’ party to demonstrate the techniques and the First Aid procedures. Students used the equipment they will have with them on their walks and climbs in the mountains.
