14 Jun Translink Travel Challenge
On Wednesday 8th June, students from Year 9 attended the Translink Travel Challenge celebration event in Belfast. The Year 9 students undertook the challenge last term and saw fantastic results across the entire year group.
Students heard from Mr Humphreys that nationally, the challenge has recorded a 45-65% change in sustainable transport use in Northern Ireland, which led to 2300 kg of co2 reduction in 2 weeks. If we can encourage our young students to maintain these changes then the impact upon our environment would be huge!
The pupils enjoyed a lovely lunch and collected a goody bag each for representing their school at the event. The group also received a certificate for Ulidia, from the head of Tidy Northern Ireland.
Well done Year 9!
