08 Mar World Book Day – Drop Everything and Read
To celebrate World Book Day on 3rd March, pupils were turning off their Bunsen burners in science, putting away their pots and pans in HE and setting down their set squares in Maths to drop everything and enjoy ten minutes reading time at surprise points during the day.
The most avid readers were rewarded for their enthusiasm and overall it was a fun event to enhance the importance of reading for education and life. Thank you to all pupils and staff who took part and all parents who regularly help make sure pupils have a reading “Book in their Bag” so that every child is a reader.
The Scholastic Book Fair will also be coming to the school on 26th April and pupils will have the chance to buy new and exciting books from all of the latest authors. Throughout this week in English lessons, each pupil will be given a £1 book token to use for money off books, or to spend on a range of £1 books .
