09 Sep A New Start for 6th Form
6th Form students were welcomed back on Wednesday 26th August 2015. Over three days, they were prepared for the year ahead through a new induction programme covering all the different aspects of life in 6th Form in Ulidia.
This year will be very different for 6th Form as Year 13 & 14 students will be vertically structured. This means that in each form class, there is a mix of Year 13 & 14 students, giving them a chance to integrate more fully, to share experiences and to become more involved in school and community life.
It also gives a chance for new friendships to form and this was reinforced by PIPS Programmes who came to deliver their Mind Your Mate programme to all 6th Form students. This is part of our wider suicide prevention programme and is aimed at encouraging our students to look out for each other and to help them recognise the signs when someone is struggling. We feel this is particularly important when exams and the pressures of study are a significant part of life for students.
We hope 6th Form are now well prepared for the year ahead and are ready to tackle the hard work that begins this week!
