30 Jan Emergency First Aid Training
Members of the Year 14 COPE class welcomed Mr Jock McGowan from the Red Cross for the first in a course of four one-hour lessons in Emergency First Aid.
The course will cover:
• Management of an unconscious casualty
• CPR
• Artificial ventilation
• Severe blood loss and shock
Successful completion of this course will lead, not only, to the participants acquiring a Red Cross Certificate in Emergency First Aid which will be valid for 3 years and a useful addition to any CV, but also to the development of one of the skills needed for their COPE Portfolios. This is certainly a win, win situation for our Year 14 pupils and who knows if maybe someday their Red Cross Training will save someone’s life!
